MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Entry Fee:

$5.00 for INITIAL ENTRY -- Prior to Qualifier

$15.00 ADDITIONAL -- Upon Advancing to Match Play

Signup, pay entry ($5) and submit 18-hole Net score from White Tees

Sunday, May 4 - Match Play Tournament Qualifier

Saturday, May 10 – Alternate Qualifying Date

Format:

FOUR FLIGHTS* A) 0-9*; B) 10-14*; C) 15-19*: D) 19+* (*May be revised)

After qualifying, this is a Net (handicapped) Match Play competition.

Strokes are given equal to difference between the player’s MOST CURRENT course handicaps.

Handicap strokes fall on individual holes per handicap rating on the scorecard.

TOP 16* QUALIFIERS IN EACH FLIGHT – Advance to individual match play competition over the season until each flight crowns a winner. All 64 qualifiers will be required to pay an additional $15 entry before the 1st match.

AT THE COMPLETION OF FLIGHT PLAY – Winners of the 4 flights will compete to crown a CHAMPION: Flight A will play Flight B; Flight C will play Flight D.

The Golf:

QUALIFYING AND ALL MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED FROM THE WHITE TEES WITH NET SCORING AT 100% BEING USED. All matches are to be played on agreed upon date and time by both participants. Players are to ALWAYS use their CURRENT home course handicap at the time of the match and players are responsible to determine handicaps prior to start of each match. All matches are to be played at BFR. Play on Sundays is strongly discouraged. If you cannot play your matches during the week (Monday thru Saturday) this is not the tournament for you. BFR is offering discounted green fees to the tourney participants for matches played Monday through Thursday.

Dates:

FLIGHT PLAY >

1^st ROUND (of 16) – scheduled on SATURDAY JUNE 14 (Can be played prior)

2^nd ROUND (of 8) – scheduled on SATURDAY JUNE 28 (Can be played prior)

3^rd ROUND (of 4) completed by JULY 26

FLIGHT FINALS completed by AUGUST 16

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES >

Semifinals complete by September 6

FINALS complete by September 27

*Note -- All information is based on 75 entrants and 4 Flights of with 16 qualifiers per Flight. The Tournament Committee will make adjustments to the prize money payouts as necessary.

Additional Guidelines

This tourney is self-funded. All entrants are required to pay $5 prior to the qualifying round. The 16 qualifiers in each flight (A, B, C, & D – 64 members total) must pay an additional $15 upon advancing to match play.

Qualifiers will not be allowed to signup for subsequent weekly Men’s Club Sunday tee times until all entrance fees are paid in full.

After completion of the second round on June 28 and all succeeding rounds, participants are to make contact with their opponent to set up the next match.

If contact has not been made or both participants have not agreed upon a match play date within this first week, both participants are required to contact the responsible Tournament Committee sponsor (immediately via email or telephone) concerning a complete explanation of the circumstances. Contact the Pro Shop staff for referral to the Tournament Committee sponsor. Information forwarded should include at a minimum:

> the dates of attempted contact with opponent,

> the match dates offered and reasons not agreed to,

> 4 dates/times when player is available for completion of the match.

Upon receipt of this information, the Tournament Committee sponsor will contact the participants to set an alternative date and time for the match to take place.

If participants cannot complete their match by the deadline or as otherwise requested, the Tournament Committee will determine the default winner or declare a double forfeit and subsequent disqualification of both participants.

Any and all decisions made by the Tournament Committee are FINAL.
