Member Eligibility

1.     Completed membership applications and annual dues must be submitted prior to March 15 each year to avoid any potential problems with handicaps administered by the CSGA:

§         re-establishing valid handicaps for returning members;

§         transferring valid GHIN numbers and handicaps for new members to BFRMC; and

§         maintaining all eligible members on BFR scoring computer for tournament scorecards.

2.     New members must have five (5) 18-hole scores posted on the GHIN system to receive an official handicap.

3.     Members must complete play in five (5) BFRMC tournaments to be eligible to play in the BFRMC Club Championship.

Scorecards & Score Posting

1.     Members are responsible for verifying all their scores and scorecards: a) all member scorecards must be completed with hole-by-hole gross scores, total gross score, and adjusted total score using Equitable Stroke Control (ESC, see below for instructions); b) all member scorecards, including those for “Away” scores, must also be signed, attested, and dated.

2.     Members are REQUIRED to submit all “Away” scorecards from other courses and non-BFR Sunday scorecards (including the BFRMC Match Play Tournament) in the scorecard box in the men’s locker room.  Members are also required post these scores on the BFR Scoring Computer.  Penalty scores can be assessed and Handicap Indexes can be adjusted by the BFRMC Handicap Committee for disregard of these requirements.

3.     Members are requested to turn in Sunday tournament scorecards to Pro Shop immediately after your round.  The Pro Shop and Handicap Committee are responsible to post only these member scores from Sunday tournaments.

Pro Shop Credit

1.     Pro Shop credit is not redeemable for Green Fees.

2.     Pro Shop credit must be redeemed at the course by November 1st.

Sign Up Procedure
Weekly Tournament Tee Time Sign-up sheets are normally available 7-days in advance.  One foursome per person at sign-up.

The person signing up either himself or other players, for future tournaments, will be held responsible for notifying the Pro Shop of the inability of said players from playing in that tournament.

This notification of cancellation must take place prior to 5:00 PM on the Wednesday prior to the event.  Failure to do so will require you to pay the course for any or all green fees not realized by your unauthorized absence, whether for you or those members you signed up.  These green fees must be paid to the course prior to you playing at Blue Fox Run again.

This policy is consistent with that of other leagues playing at Blue Fox Run.  This courtesy also allows us to fill in with players showing up without tee times.   The penalties for failure to adhere to this club policy are as follows:

§         First offense will result in a two-week suspension from tournament play, starting with the next scheduled event.

§         A second offense will result in a four-week suspension.

§         A third offense will result in a loss of membership with no refund of any kind.

§         Should this failure to show without a call, occur for any type of team event, the suspension for a first offense will be for a period of four weeks.  A second infraction of any type will result in loss of membership with no refund of any kind.

These policies, like all of our Club policies, are for the good of all members!  Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

FAQs about Handicaps

What is my current handicap?

Take your GHIN number from your handicap card and go to GHIN.com; or look it up on the BFR Scoring Computer.

How do I adjust my score USING EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL (ESC)?

Your score must be adjusted for stroke control before you turn in your score card.

Adjusted scores are for handicap purposes only.

Final tournament standings and payout only use the competitor's total score (net or gross), ESC adjusted scores are not used.

Here is how ESC works:
